Hello and welcome to the Christmas edition of Arrow - To the Point

It doesn’t seem a year since I sat down and penned the words of the 2014 edition, but a year it is. When I look back over the last 12 months, I see a year characterised by continued rapid change in the marketplace as new technologies and companies emerge, and the Cloud – in its various forms – continues its onward march. Within Arrow UK&I, we saw the continued consolidation of our NetSec business into the broader company, the office opening and launch of our “reset” Irish business, the announcement of several new and exciting vendor partnerships and some stunning customer wins.

As ever, we are only here because of our customers and our vendor partners. The only reason we have customers and vendor partners is because of YOU. I would like to thank each and every one of you for you hard work this year, but also for helping to develop Arrow as a Great Place to Work. As you know, we recently asked everyone to participate in the Great Place to Work survey and we will be sharing the initial results of that exercise in the January Boardcast. Your feedback is much appreciated – but means nothing if we don’t do something with it.

The nature of our fiscal calendar means that many of you will be working up until late on New Year’s Eve, making sure that we can close business right up until the last moment. I want everyone to know just how much I appreciate this commitment – and for anyone in the Theale office – I will be on pizza duty that night.

The Christmas holiday season is a special time, and I hope that everyone manages to get some relaxing time with friends and loved ones. As a token of appreciation from myself and all the Arrow ECS leadership, everyone will be receiving a gift to enjoy over the Christmas period.

As I think about 2015, one of my favourite phrases comes to mind.

“It’s always more fun to drive change than be driven by it”

We are in a great position for next year. We are doing different things to our competitors and our partners like that. Let’s go change the marketplace.

I hope Santa is kind to you.

Best regards,
