New Hires

Arrow UK & Ireland is a big organisation and it can be difficult to keep track of who’s who. We like to introduce any new employees to the business here, to give you a real snippet of who the new folks are so they’re not just another name joining the company.

Welcome to Arrow!

Mike Allum

Internal Account Manager

Before joining the Nottingham based Network Security team as an Internal Account Manager, my career has been focused around the partner channel where I have worked in a number of different resellers selling solutions from major vendors such as HP, Cisco, IBM etc… I have gained valuable experience and insight into how partners work and I’m hoping this knowledge helps in my new role, particularly in understanding what is important to our partners and how I can help them win more business. It’s an exciting change in perspective that I am really looking forward to!

Loves… When I’m not working, I like to spend as much time with my family as possible. I have twin girls who are 8 years old - so there’s always plenty to do! I also enjoy watching football and playing golf (when I can fit these in!).

Zach Smith

Solutions Marketing Manager

I joined Arrow in September as the Solutions Marketing Manager for EMEA so am very much a ‘newbie’ to Arrow! Not so much a ‘newbie’ to the IT industry though as I bring with me over 10 years IT industry experience across UK/EMEA. During my time working for Capita and more recently ASM Technologies, I have been responsible for managing the UK&I Cisco partner marketing activity, was the key proposition and marketing lead to launch Capita’s very first cloud based solution (Dynamic Hosting) and introduced a new vendor partner programme and associated solutions for ASM Technologies.

I have really enjoyed my first few weeks and am looking forward to the challenges of the role and making a significant contribution to the business.

Loves… My kids (and wife!), football, golf, socialising and travelling.

Andy Watson

Internal Business Development Manager

Before joining Arrow as an Internal Business Development Manager in the Support Services team, I worked just south of Cambridge for a Business Telecoms Company called Excell, where I was an Account Manager. Previous to this role I worked for Foursys Ltd who are an IT Security Reseller.

I’ve been here since the 7th September and although I’m just a couple of weeks in, I’m really enjoying it here and learning the processes and systems. Luckily I’ve joined a great team and I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead!

Loves… Spending time with my family, football, swimming, live music and socialising.

Jake Whitehurst

Internal Business Development Manager – Newmarket

I work in the F5 team in Newmarket. Before coming to Arrow, I was the Manager of an Insurance Brokers in Bishops Stortford.

I had been doing that since I turned 18, so when Arrow came knocking I felt it was a good opportunity to start something new as I’d been fancying a change for a while. I’m looking forward to seeing where my time here takes me and what I can learn along the way.

Loves… Sport - mainly football, gym, socialising, fishing, movies, holidays and food.

Daniel Vicsik

Renewals Sales Specialist

Before joining Arrow I worked in the Architecture and Engineering field for over 10 years for some of the leading companies in the country such as Capita, Carters, Howarth, Taylor Wimpey, primarily using AutoCAD to produce various drawings.

Some projects included Wembley Stadium, all Barclay Banks in the UK and Colchester Garrison. While gaining my degree, I also became a Chartered Member of CIAT at the age of only 21.

I decided to join Arrow as I was keen to work for a leading global company who would offer a career with many opportunities amongst various countries around the world.

Loves…. Sport, I currently play American Football for Bury St Edmunds Saints and we have just finished our second season in which we won our division going 10-0. This past Sunday we just won the Bowl (finals) after going through the playoffs, thus making a perfect season of 13-0. We now will be competing in Division 1 next season, one step away from the Premier League!

Travelling is also an active interest, it’s a big wide world so why not see as much as you can. Food (I tend to be a man vs. food type of guy) and fishing.

Amy Black

Compliance Administrator

Before joining the Export Compliance Team in August, I spent 6 years working in charity government funded compliance, specialising in audits and compliance regulations. I’ve lived in Manchester my whole life and recently moved to Wattisham Airfield. I relocated to live with my husband who is currently based at Wattisham in the Army and have been with Arrow for just over a month.

Loves… I’ve skydived and scuba dived, I also enjoy a night out.

Sophie Trower

Sales Administrator

I joined Arrow in August as an apprentice with no IT background. I have had a few previous jobs but all in the food industry, so joining arrow was a big career step for me as well as a huge personal step to make such a big change. I am now 7 weeks in and am really enjoying myself, I couldn’t ask for a better team. As I am still quite young, I am finding my confidence is growing and I am gaining valuable experience already. I can’t wait to see where this company can take me and what they’ll throw my way.

Loves… Shopping, travelling, socialising and food :-)

Matt Dunn

24x7 Network & Security Support Engineer

Previous to joining Arrow, I have worked for a Cambridge based ISP as well as a Suffolk based Sophos reseller, so have been lucky enough to be exposed to many different technologies over the years. I have been with Arrow since July and I’m happy to say all is going well so far!

Loves… Outside of work, I mostly enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter as well cycling (occasionally I do this for charity too).

Daniel Frappola

Product Manager

Before accepting my role here at Arrow as a Product Manager, I was an Account Manager at a company called Probrand. My main duties were looking after 150 plus customers and generating business on a day to day basis. Working as a team but hitting individual targets, selling anything from USB sticks all the way up to selling servers, storage and software.

Loves… Playing/watching football (Juventus Fan), playing poker, night club DJ (weekend job) and socialising with friends.

Kamila Blektova

Payroll Assistant

Before joining Arrow as a Payroll Assistant, I worked as a Credit Control and Finance Assistant at a family business (Cromwell Polythene Limited) for 4.5 years, where I also covered Accounts Payable and Payroll. Having 8 years prior experience in Credit Control, Accounts Payable and Payroll, I have gained a good understanding of the links and structure within the Accounts office. I have now decided to further my career in Payroll and I am really excited to join Arrow.

Loves… Being an exchange student in Sweden started my biggest passion which is travelling – visiting my friends all around the world (USA, UAE, Australia). I am known for taking too many pictures from my holidays, all of landscapes and buildings!

A great way to recharge my batteries is through music and sports, although these days I’m more passive than active but I still love cycling, skiing and hiking. Now and then I join my friends at a football/rugby game.

Natalie Simpson

Marketing Assistant – IBM & Lenovo

I joined Arrow in August to support IBM & Lenovo’s marketing team, straight from Sheffield Hallam University where I studied Business and ICT. During my time there, I completed an enjoyable 14 month placement in a marketing position within the engineering industry. The invaluable experience I gained helped me successfully secure my exciting role here at Arrow. Focusing on demand generation for IBM & Lenovo, my first couple of months have been extremely interesting and I am delighted to be developing my marketing career at Arrow.

Loves... Visiting new places, holidays, spending time with family and socialising with friends, eating out, swimming and Formula 1.
