Renowned business management speaker and BBC Dragon, Piers Linney is a successful entrepreneur with an impressive business portfolio. He is the co-CEO of the award-winning Cloud service provider Outsourcery Plc, as well as the brains behind the non-profit organisation workinsight.org.
The innovative nature of Outsourcery Plc highlights Piers’ own creativity and ingenuity, whilst the product itself has won a multitude of awards, including Microsoft’s worldwide hosting Partner of the Year in 2010. A successful business speaker and owner in his own right, it was Linney’s own observations about the internet that led to the development of Outsourcery Plc.
Piers first came into the public eye in 2011 when he appeared on the Channel 4 series the Secret Millionaire, where he went undercover in a Young Offender’s Prison. His compassion and determination, as showcased in the documentary, translates directly from reality TV to the boardroom, as well as his business acumen and skill demonstrated by the success of his business endeavours. Piers Linney has played a vital role in the development of a number of independent businesses through both his work as a public speaker and his position as expert investor and business management speaker on the hit BBC series Dragon’s Den.
Outside his work on Dragon’s Den, Piers has also acted as a member on the governance board of the UK’s Cloud Industry Forum and has appeared in the media several times to discuss the advantages of cloud computing.
Philip Carnelley is AVP for IDC’s European Software Group, and has over 20 years’ experience of working in the IT industry as an analyst, consultant, and applications developer in a variety of industries around Europe.
He leads IDC’s European research on enterprise applications and analytics, with a particular focus on big data and cognitive/AI software and solutions and their implications for digital business transformation. He heads IDC’s multi-disciplinary European Cognitive/AI Research Practice, and he also oversees IDC's European Software Tracker analyst team. He is also tasked with writing and presenting on broader enterprise software trends and the impact of emerging software technologies in the European region. He is a regular keynote speaker and panelist at industry events.
Mark McHale, Vice President for the UK and Ireland region at Arrow, has well over thirty years’ experience in the IT industry, including two years overseas working in Africa and North America. Mark’s long service with the company – he joined in 1986 – has given him remarkable insight into an industry that continues to evolve at an ever-accelerating pace.
An early apprenticeship in electrical & electronic engineering proved a springboard for a successful career in IT sales, which culminated in his joining the Arrow board as UK Sales Director over ten years ago. His most recent role at Arrow was Managing Director for the Data Centre Solutions division of Arrow business in the UK and Ireland.
Mark excels at recognising a market need and identifying the appropriate solutions to fulfil it, a vital sales skill that he brings to his current role. He enables Arrow, our vendors and our channel partners to collectively seize opportunities presented by game-changing markets and the technologies within them such as cloud, digital and IoT to develop mutually profitable relationships.
It’s a time of transition, and in steering the business forward through a radically changing commercial and technological landscape, Mark balances his strategic vision of what the future will look like with a pragmatic and structured approach to implementation.

Joe Baguley is VMware’s Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for EMEA, joining VMware in July 2011. He helps develop and communicate VMware’s strategy and vision with customers and partners, using his wealth of experience to help organisations reduce costs and better support users and business needs. As part of VMware’s Office of the CTO and its representative in EMEA, Joe assists VMware’s customers in understanding how to use today’s advances in technology to deliver real business impact as well as working with them to inform VMware’s R&D processes.
Joe is a recognised leader within the European technical community and considered one of the top 50 most influential leaders in UK IT. He won an award for data leadership in ‘Infrastructure & Protection’ in the 2016 Data 50 Awards and appeared in the Computer Weekly UKtech50, the Information Age Top 50 Data Leaders and the Cloud World Series’ Cloud 100 community board. He has played a key role in CloudCamp and other events, communicating how cloud technology fits into the broader IT landscape. Joe previously spent ten years at Quest Software where he was CTO of EMEA, shaping its direction and strategy.
In addition, Joe is also on several advisory boards at the European Commission and ETSI and is a founding committee member of the Data Centre Specialist Group at the British Computer Society which helped shape the European Code Of Conduct for Data Centres.
Joe is based in the UK but his remit is across Europe, Middle East and Africa.
